Yeah, I know I havn’t been around for awhile. I’m sorry Rachel (I suspect she is the only person who reads my blog anyway). I’ve finally got my new blog set up after some minor confusion with my previous domain/hosting provider, RegisterFly. The short version goes like this:

1. RegisterFly overcharged my credit card several times.
2. I contacted RegisterFly mulitple times about the overcharges.
3. After months of invalid responses and no attempts to fix the overcharges, they “no longer had access to the credit records.” They said all they could do is issue a credit at RegisterFly.
4. I informed my bank concerning the situation. They agreed that I had been overcharged multiple times. My bank issued a chargeback.
5. I informed RegisterFly of the chargeback. RegisterFly was fuming. They immeidiately shutdown my website and held my domains hostage. RegisterFly said I had to pay them $200 for issuing a chargeback and I had to “pay back the money” that I owed them. They said that my hosting and domains would be unusable unless I payed them.

Luckily I was so fed up with RegisterFly prior to the chargeback that I transfered my domain names to Bluehost before RegisterFly could take control of my domain names. However, RegisterFly continued to insist that my domain names were in “Account Fraud” and that the domain names would be unusable. Moral of the story; you probably should not use RegisterFly.
